Castlecaulfield was formed around the early 1600s during the 'Ulster Plantation' and takes its name fom its founder Sir Toby Caulfeild. The area was formerly known as Ballydonnelly being the stronghold of the O'Donnelly Clan. Today the village and surrounding area is home to over 2,300 people. The area boasts a wealth of historic interest nestled among rolling hills and is fast becoming one of the most popular places to live in South Tyrone.
